Dolores Aveiro, mother of Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants her boy to choose Manchester United over PSG.

The Daily Mirror reports, Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro is really concerned about the reports suggesting, PSG are certain favourites to sign her son if he eventually decides to bring down the curtain on his spell in Madrid.

Sources close to her claim, Aveiro does not want her son to move his family to Parris following the recent terrorist attacks in the French capital, the mother has already requested her superstar boy to complete an emotional return to Old Trafford rather than PSG.

Former United star Ronaldo left Old Trafford for Spanish giants Real Madrid back in 2009, for a world record £80 million fee at that time. Since joining Real he has become their all-time record goalscorer, but rumours always followed him which suggested one day Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford. United manager van Gaal is also looking for more fireworks in his frontline as the attacking line despite having Rooney, Martial, Depay still finding it difficult to score goals.

Last week the French media claimed that Ligue 1 champions PSG are more than willing to pay Ronaldo, a sensational contract of £250,000-a-week excluding tax. This would become the equivalent of £500,000-a-week by the standards of Premier League which rules Manchester United clearly out of the race.

PSG’s Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic already earns almost £220,000 per week excluding tax and the French side are now willing to go even higher to rope in a star footballer like Ronaldo. Ironically two days ago Ronaldo’s agent claimed that it’s impossible to lure the Portuguese away from Madrid right now, but that cannot deter PSG’s desire as they regards Ronaldo to be the future face of the club when 34-year-old Ibrahimovic leaves  next summer after his contract expires.

It is still unclear whether the suggestion that Mrs Ronaldo is urging her beloved boy to return to Old Trafford is accurate or not; but it’s for sure, an interesting battle will take place between Manchester United and PSG for the Portuguese superstar next summer.

At the age of 30, any club signing Ronaldo would know that they will not see a return on their investment in terms of resale value, but the commercial opportunities which can rise from shirt sales and merchandise might off-set a portion of the transfer fee which would need to be paid eventually.

This story is set to go on over the next few months, while the next destination for Ronaldo remains one of the hottest talking points in the transfer market.
