Evolution opener was an expected one with Trish Stratus and Lita teaming up. These two veterans fired up the crowd with their old school moves. The crowd enjoyed seeing the Stratusfaction or the moon sault from Lita which had become cult moves. The ending of the match was a little messy due to botches. But overall, it was not a bad experience, either to kick things off.

The Evolution battle royal did not fall short either. The crowd in New York was quite louder last night for the female performers. The mix of names inside the ring for this match was also good. It’s always good to see some of the veterans competing inside the ring. Also, Carmella’s dance break produced a lot of fun. Nia Jax was a good call by the officials to win the match. She is the rightmost candidate to challenge Ronda Rousey in the near future.
Two solid matches followed right after this contest. Toni Storm proved why she is the future of the women’s division by winning the MYC season II. But Io Shirai was no less with her tandem offenses. It was also an interesting call to let Shayna Baszler pick up the NXT women’s title at Evolution. The big surprise was to involve Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir into this match. It cemented the fact that they are coming at NXT as regular performers.
The Smackdown women’s championship match at Evolution was the original main event match for hardcore fans. The Last Woman Standing match stood out distinct by all means. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch tore each other apart getting the no-DQ environment. Also, the thunderous ovation from the fans towards Becky was overwhelming. It proves how much she is over with the WWE Universe, right now.
Nikki Bella and Ronda Rousey had a big chip on their shoulder to close Evolution on a big note. They delivered a hell of a match which was far better than initially thought. They went extremely physical with each other to deliver a happening match. Some of the fans may not want to accept it but the two mainstream stars pulled the burden off, really well. The closing moment with Ronda Rousey celebrating with the entire roster was also something special.

#WWEEvolution despite WWE’s lack of build or investment was a super fun PPV. The crowd was hype and the matches were great. Hopefully it becomes an annual thing.
No more firsts. Just norms.

That was a great PPV.
That Becky Lynch/Charlotte match is arguably the new bar for the main roster women matches. Utterly brilliant and completely stole the show.
There wasn’t a bad match in there. Maybe they can do this more often? #WWEEvolution pic.twitter.com/DdjQHCF76m
