WWE Raw started the buildup for Survivor Series from Monday Night onwards. They have announced Baron Corbin as the Team Captain from their side for men’s team. Alexa Bliss will be the Team Captain for the women’s team. However, both of them will not compete in the traditional tag team match. Rather they will overlook things to bring the best out of the competitors.

Revealed: Tensions rise during women’s team announcement from Smackdown

Smackdown Live had to follow it up with some big announcement, last night. This year, both the brands are getting shorter timespan for Survivor Series. Only one more episode will air following this week before the special PPV event occurs on the WWE Network. So the blue brand came up with some big declarations to turn the attention of the WWE Universe from the flagship show.

Smackdown Live already announced that the authority figures will give some big news on last night’s show. Paige and Shane McMahon were both in attendance at the Manchester Arena in the United Kingdom to hype things up. We expected to know whom they choose as the men and women’s division team captains. Well, they addressed the men’s division team announcement, first.

Shane McMahon confirmed Daniel Bryan will be the leader for Team Blue at Survivor Series. Bryan was happy to do it on behalf of his team until The Miz interfered. He mentioned how he carried Smackdown brand at the world cup finale. So he deserved the captain’s spot. Even Manchester crowd agreed with the A-lister. So Paige and Shane McMahon made these two the co-captains of Team Smackdown.

The two got along on the same page, quite well by picking up the third member in the form of Shane McMahon. The commissioner was happy to be part of the team. As for the fourth spot, we had a qualifying match on Smackdown Live. Rey Mysterio went head-to-head against Andrade Cien Almas in a battle of two Mexicans. Rey emerged victorious by hitting a 619 on his opponent to go on to Survivor Series.

The fifth remained open for two men’s division superstars of Smackdown. Samoa Joe and Jeff Hardy battled it out for this spot. Hardy was in control of the match until Joe countered the Swanton Bomb and locked in the Coquina Clutch. This earned him a submission win and the last spot for Survivor Series.

However, things did not end well on Smackdown as Daniel Bryan attacked Joe as a result of last week’s fallout. The Miz and Shane McMahon tried to stop him but Bryan hit them both to put down. We expect there will be repercussions for his actions in the future.
