WWE Raw had a clean sweep over Smackdown Live at Survivor Series. The scoreline was 6-0 in favor of the flagship show that was the best performance from their side, to date. The fact that the blue brand was not able to pick up a single win downplayed Smackdown’s caliber. WWE Raw proved they are the A-show no matter what. Stephanie McMahon humiliated her brother in the most despicable way possible.

But we should note that Smackdown did not lose all the matches in reality at Survivor Series. They secured a win on the kick-off show which WWE never acknowledged. It was five tag teams from WWE Raw that went head to head against five tag teams from Smackdown. The blue brand ended up winning this bout to give the upper-hand to team Blue which they could not capitalize.
Surprisingly WWE deleted this stats all over mentioning that the score is 6-0 and 6-1. It is evident that the tag team from Smackdown Live are not happy about this. They feel disrespected about how the officials treated this. This was not a non-televised match either. So what could be the possible reason for wiping this win out of the history books?
Dave Meltzer noted on this topic on this week’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. He spoke about the creative team’s plan about Survivor Series to give WWE Raw clean sweep over Smackdown. But the tag teams of the blue brand got accidentally booked to win on the kick-off show. So the officials were right up to damage control and considered to count only the matches held on the main show.
The two prime tag teams from Smackdown, The Usos and The New Day were not happy about this, at all. Xavier Woods tweeted out letting his frustrations know about WWE removing a PPV win secured by them. His tweet also hinted the confusions of storyline bookers at Survivor Series.
It’s not something new to see the creative team not utilizing the tag teams, properly. There are several names like The Revival, SAnitY or even AOP who could not make the biggest impact despite having potential. AOP did win the WWE Raw tag team championships in recent times but they might suffer from a lack of challenges in the future.
