The inaugural Pro Wrestling League (PWL) is knocking the door and they are getting a huge boost before even before the starting, due to Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma’s association as a co-owner of Uttar Pradesh Warriors (UP Warriors).

The inaugural PWL will begin from 10th December and will end at 27th December. Just a day before the start of the tournament, Rohit Sharma was named as the co-owner of UP Warriors on today. Lotus Greens is the other co-owner of the team. India’s wrestling star Sushil Kumar is the icon player of this team. Also Babita Kumari, the Indian female wrestler, who won the gold medal at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, is a team member.

PWL is produced by ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India. 6 city-based teams will participate in this inaugural competition along with 66 wrestlers from different countries of the world including men and women both.

Rohit said about the PWL, “India has had a long and proud history with Wrestling. I am proud to come on board as one of the Co-Owners of the UP Warriors team at the Pro Wrestling League. Our team has the best line-up of wrestlers including India’s most celebrated wrestler Sushil Kumar. We look forward to making it to the top of the league for the first season of the PWL.”

Director of ProSportify Vishal Gurnani said about the joining of Rohit Sharma, “Rohit Sharma is one of the appreciated cricketers in India today. We excitedly welcome him on board as one of the co-owners for the team UP Warriors. We look forward to a fruitful & long lasting association with Rohit.”

Before Rohit, Indian famous and Bollywood star Dharmendra was the only big celebrity to co-own a team in this league. Dharmendra is a co-owner of Punjab Royals along with CDR Group.
