The game has evolved a lot in the last decade. There was a time when a score of 240-260 was considered to be at par score, but nowadays even 320 looks chasable and teams have done it with plenty of overs still left thanks to T20 Cricket (not to forget smaller grounds, Australia being the only exception, bigger bats, Change of rules, Powerplays, Free hits, bating friendly pitches). So the game has become a batter game. What’s in it for a bowler. No bowler likes to have a economy rate of around seven or being hit for a 20 run over is a common thing now. Who would like to become a bowler in such conditions. So being a spectator I would like to see some competition between bat and ball. For it to happen ICC should modify some rules. That’s why we play a sport for, there should be an equilibrium between two fields of the game. We don’t play it for fours and sixes and just entertainment.

INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE

PROS: When we see a Harbhajan Singh celebrating his wicket with Ricky Ponting (who have been arch rivals all their life), which is great for the game.Young and domestic players get to share dressing rooms with big international players.Firslty, they get to learn a lot from them and even playing with or against them is in itself a dream come true for any cricketer. Secondly, when they play in front of 50,000 or more crowd, they can go through the pressure situation. Also, when you see likes of Sachin tendulkar, Ricky ponting, Wasim Akram, Anil kumble,Rahul dravid and many more mentoring them. It is great for their future.

CONS: It takes away the home advantage. With four foreign players playing in eight teams all over the country for almost two months every year, they get to know the pitches really well.

FIXING: Well it is hard to understand that when players are being paid crores of rupees for just one and a half month, why they involve in such scams.

Also a lot of slogging has come into the game where players look to clear the fence from ball 1 but as is the need of the situation. I remember a time when coaches will tell the players to hit the ball down the ground and if they don’t do so, they were punished.

Well last but not the least a nightmare for the bowlers.

THANK YOU.
