Royal Rumble was the first PPV event of the year 2019 which is also part of the big-four events of the year. The match card of the show was a packed one that lived up to the expectations. The audience was not only happy to witness these matches but also excited about the outcomes. This also set the course to follow en route to Wrestlemania.
Changes made to Royal Rumble 2019
There will be two more events waiting for us until Wrestlemania 35 arrives. Elimination Chamber will take place on February 17th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Next, Fastlane will be waiting as the final PPV prior to the biggest event of the year. This one will be hosted by the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on March 10th.
Recently reports are out on what we can expect from the Fastlane PPV. Since it is the last show prior to Wrestlemania, we expect the matches might hint to the upcoming rivalries that will culminate at the biggest event of the year. Well, this time around there’s not much scope waiting for us as the featured matches are already seen.
The local agencies are advertising three matches at this time for Fastlane PPV. PWInsider.com revealed them which includes names like Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley. As you can guess each of these rivalries has been going on for quite sometimes and might just continue.
Daniel Bryan will defend his WWE Championship against AJ Styles for the third time in a PPV event. It hints that the current champion will walk out retaining his title at the Elimination Chamber PPV. The plan seems clear from the WWE officials where they want to keep Bryan as the champion throughout the Wrestlemania season.
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair is a never-ending lineup in the WWE. They have made a career out of beating each other throughout the past several years. Now they are going at each other once again since the heel-turn of Becky Lynch. It looks like this bout will happen once again at Fastlane. This match could leave a fallout on the Wrestlemania match between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.
Finally, Seth Rollins has entered a rivalry against Bobby Lashley on WWE Raw for a few weeks now. The latter one is the Intercontinental Champion and hence the match at Fastlane should happen over the title. Brock Lesnar will not perform in this PPV, anyway. So the mid-card title might continue to replace the Universal Title until we go into Wrestlemania.
