The Indian national cricket team finished the ODI series in New Zealand with a 35-run victory at Westpac Stadium (Wellington). India won the five-match away ODI series by the 4-1 margin.

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bat first after winning the toss. Struggling on 18/4, the Indian middle-order batsmen played very well and stretched the innings to 252 runs before losing all wickets. In reply, the hosts were losing their wickets in regular intervals, and finally, they managed only 217 runs.

Best ODI total for India at the Westpac Stadium (Wellington). Their previous record was 216 in 49.4 overs against New Zealand on 31st January 2014.

vi) India bundled out New Zealand for 217 runs.

Lowest completed second innings ODI total for New Zealand against India in New Zealand. Their previous lowest was 220 at Basin Reserve (Wellington) on 6 March 1990.

vii) Four New Zealand batsmen lost their wickets through the lbw.

It was the third time when four New Zealand batsmen lost their wickets through the lbw in the same ODI innings against India. The first two similar incidents happened in 2003, both in India (Cuttack and Hyderabad). There was no incident when more than four New Zealand batsmen lost their wickets through the lbw in the same ODI innings against India.
