Current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has finally revealed that he wishes to manager in the English Premier League. This revelation comes as a huge boost to all the top EPL clubs especially Manchester United and Manchester City who were the front runners to rope in the superstar manager at the end of this season.

Last month, it was clarified from Guardiola and Bayern Munich’s end that the Spanish manager will not sign a contract extension with the club which ends at the end of the current season and would leave the German giants in an ammicable settlement. Bayern Munich even took a step ahead and announced that former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti would take charge after Pep Guardiola leaves.

Among the Premier League clubs, Manchester United and their city rivals Manchester City were closely linked with the Spaniard as both the club were not satisfied with their current managers. Manchester United were struggling in the league until last week as they went 8 matches on a trot without a win and were also knocked out of the UEFA Champions League from the group stage.

Manchester City are among the title contenders currently but if inside reports are to be believed then the top brass of the club officials are not happy with Manuel Pellegrini and would show him the door after the current season ends.

In these circumstances both the Manchester United clubs were keen on roping in Pep Guardiola next summer.

Until today there was a doubt whether Guardiola himself would land up in England as rumours were heard that he might take a sabatical once again. But putting all rumours to rest, Guardiola is quoted by European media, where he stated: “The reason I have not extended my contract is simple. I want to manage in the Premier League,” said Guardiola.

“I haven’t decided on a new club yet.

“I’m very happy and grateful to Bayern for the trust they’ve shown in me but I need a new challenge.”

Pep Guardiola has also been linked heavily with defending Premier League champions Chelsea FC who had sacked Jose Mourinho last month for a dismal season so far. Guus Hiddink is currently serving as the manager on an interim contract.
