On Thursday (21 February), Madhya Pradesh women bundled out Mizoram women for just nine runs at Palmyra Cricket Ground (Puducherry) in the Group E of 2018/19 Senior Women’s T20 League.
Apart from the one batter, none of other opened their accounts. A total of nine batters scored ducks in that innings while another batter remained not out on 0. In that innings, only the no.5 batswoman Apurwa Bhardwaj opened her account and scored just six runs off 25 balls. She hit the solitary four in that innings. The remaining three runs came from the extras – two wides and one leg-bye.
Madhya Pradesh women bundled out Mizoram side in 13.5 overs. The right-arm medium pacer Tarang Jha was the star bowler for Madhya Pradesh women in that innings. She had the bowling figures of 4-3-2-4. Also, Salonee Dangore (2/0) picked up two wickets while Anshula Rao (1/0), Varsha Choudhary (1/0), Nidhi Buley (1/0) and Babita Mandlik (1/1) bagged one wicket each. A total of four Madhya Pradesh bowlers didn’t concede a run in that innings.
In reply, Madhya Pradesh women chased down that tiny total in the first six balls of their innings. Openers Babita Mandlik (3*) and Tarang Jha (2*) easily guided for an easy victory without any trouble. Apurwa Bhardwaj bowled that only over of that innings, and she conceded ten runs in that over, including five wides.
Mizoram women scored 24 runs in one-day earlier

Mizoram is one of the nine new teams who has started to compete in Indian domestic tournaments for the first time from the ongoing season. One day earlier, on Wednesday (20 February), Mizoram women were all out for just 24 runs (16.2 overs) against Kerala women in the same tournament at CAP Siechem Ground (Puducherry).
In that game, seven batters failed to open their accounts, including six ducks. Once again their batswomen were unable to reach the double-digit scores as the highest score was nine runs by Poonam Parate. In reply, Kerala women successfully chased that in 2.3 overs without losing any wicket.
