According to a recent report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had a recent discussion over opening a choice for the foreign players to play either Indian Premier League (IPL) or Pakistan Premier League (PSL).
In the wake of Pulwama terror attack, many Indians have called to end the entire relationship with Pakistan. On 14 February, a suicide bomber attacked with an explosive-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district (Jammu and Kashmir). More than 40 soldiers have lost their lives, and many are critically injured. The Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out that attack.

The whole world has condemned on that coward incident. The entire Indian cricket family have also cried out over that incident and came out to support the Indian soldiers.
Since that incident, many Indians, including some cricketers, have called to end the cricketing as well as every relationship with Pakistan. India has already stopped broadcasting the PSL 2019. Some Indian stadiums have removed or covered the photos of Pakistan cricketers. While India and Pakistan haven’t involved in the bilateral cricket series since 2013, many want that the country also should stop the other cricketing ties with Pakistan.

At present, India and Pakistan only meet in the ICC or ACC tournaments. The two nations set to face in the upcoming 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. According to the World Cup schedule, they will meet on 16 June at Old Trafford (Manchester). However, many Indians have demanded to boycott that game, while some have opposed on that boycott idea.
BCCI finally decided not to give a choice to the foreign players to play either IPL or PSL
Now, recently the BCCI had a meeting on the foreign players’ policy in IPL. According to The Indian Express, the SC-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) members – Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji, BCCI CEO Rahul Johri and Lieutenant General Ravi Thodge discussed this matter. They had a key point whether to give a choice to the foreign players to play either IPL or PSL.
However, they felt that it would be inappropriate to initiate this as IPL franchises bought the players, not BCCI. So they have decided to scrap that idea.
