Liverpool are said to be preparing a bid for Bayern Munich and Germany World Cup winning star Mario Gotze, according to reports from German media.
A report published in German publication Bild suggests, Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to reunite with the 23-year-old Bayern star, who played under him at Borussia Dortmund.
Gotze, who is rated at somewhat around €50million, has been sidelined since October with a groin injury but is believed to return to action at the end of this month.
Gotze joined Bayern Munich to link up with Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola in 2013, but since then things haven’t run smoothly for the German midfielder.
Liverpool have already signed Red Star Belgrade’s promising midfielder Marco Grujic. The 19-year-old Serbian youngster has already been compared with Liverpool man Emre Can for his amazing age-defying physicality and box-to-box mentality.
The Merseysiders have also been highly linked with two wingers, as Klopp is interested to secure a deal for Leverkusen wide-man Karim Bellarabi. The German winger generally operates on the right of midfield and has also netted twice in 15 Bundesliga appearances this term.
A report form Express claims, the Reds are all set to smash their record transfer fee with a staggering £37m move for Borussia Monchengladach star Granit Xhaka.
Meanwhile Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool will no longer send out their promising young talents on loan spells.
Liverpool have already recalled Ryan Kent from Coventry and Sheyi Ojo from Wolves to cut short their loan spells following his team’s current injury crisis, while Tiago Ilori also came back to Melwood after Aston Villa decided to cancel his season-long loan.
The Reds still have 11 more players out on loan ranging from first-team members like Mario Balotelli and Lazar Markovic to Academy young talents like Sergi Canos, Lawrence Vigouroux and Jordan Williams.
However, The German doesn’t like sending young talents away from club to continue their development; rather he prefers them to stay around as part of the club’s under-21 squad.
“It is important we take our own players back like with Kent, Ojo and Tiago,” he said.
“These are our players and we have a situation (with the injuries). In my opinion the best talents should be at their own club so they can play together for the under-21s and develop as a team, so you always have them around you.
“That’s how I think it should be. Now we take them back and it’s a big chance for the boys.”
