Australian pacer Pat Cummins praised the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. While the Indian pace bowler is dominating all over the world, Pat Cummins feels that he has a great cricketing brain.

The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is very consistent in every format. His bowling always helps India to stay in the game, even in tight situations. Recently, during the Visakhapatnam T20I against Australia, Jasprit Bumrah bowled impressively in the low-scoring game. While India had to defend the 126 runs, the Indian pacer ended the game with the bowling figures of 4-0-16-3. Though India lost that thrilling game on the very final ball of the match, his bowling put a strong challenge on the visitors.

Pat Cummins praised the Indian pacer and said that he had the great cricketing brain.

On Tuesday, Pat Cummins said, “He is obviously a class act. Two of the basics he does really well is that he bowls fast and he bowls accurately. Anyone who does that in world cricket will pose a real challenge for the batsmen. He has got a great slower ball, seems to have a great cricketing brain, executes his skills really well. He has done really well in all three formats and the one to watch out for.”

Pat Cummins is one of the in-form cricketers of present Australian national cricket team. Recently, he has become the no.1 Test ranked bowler. In the last two seasons, the Aussie pacer has maintained his excellent fitness, and it has helped him to produce consistent performances.

The Aussie pacer said about his recent success, “I haven’t seen too many memes (of myself on social media) but really happy with how my game is going at the moment. So many things have fallen into place. Playing quite consistent cricket has helped. I have not played too much white ball cricket, so looking forward to more of it. It is a bigger challenge with the ball not swinging as much as the red ball.”

In recent times, Pat Cummins has played some crucial roles as the lower-order batsman. In the Visakhapatnam T20I, his bat helped the Australian side to snatch the thrilling last-ball victory. While Australia needed six runs in the last two balls of the match, Pat Cummins hit one four and then took two runs to secure that game for his team.

Talking about his batting, Pat Cummins said, “I am pretty happy batting down at 8 or 9. I think my role in the team is just to survive and bat extra time. Hopefully, I have got a batsman at the other end who can really cash in, especially in Tests. I might have big shots like a lot of other batsmen, and I have really enjoyed it. Anyway, you can’t just prepare for a game as a bowler, you got to prepare for everything.”

It will be a huge result for us to win the T20I series by 2-0

With this victory, Australia is leading the two-match T20I series by 1-0. It means the visiting side has already secured the series and they only have to avoid a defeat in the second T20I to win the series. However, Australia is focusing on winning the second T20I that will help them to win the series by 2-0.

Pat Cummins feels that it will be a massive result for them if they win the series by 2-0.

He said about this series, “It (leading a series) has not happened for us in a while in an overseas series. Especially in a place like India which is so foreign to Australian conditions, against one of the best sides in the world. It will be a huge result for us, yeah. But we know will have to really play well to beat them tomorrow.”

India and Australia will play the second and final T20I of the series on Wednesday (27 February) at Bengaluru.
