On Friday (1 March), Nike launched the new ODI jersey of Indian national cricket team. The youngster Prithvi Shaw, who was present in that launch, posted his picture with the Indian captain Virat Kohli and the senior cricketer MS Dhoni. In that social media post, the youngster added a famous line from a rap from the recently released Bollywood movie “Gully Boy”.

One day ahead from the opening ODI of the home ODI series against Australia, Nike launched the new Indian ODI jersey. Among the men’s cricketers, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw were present in that launch. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues also attended in that event by representing the national women’s team.

On Saturday (2 March), India will start the five-match home ODI series against Australia by wearing the new jersey. Moreover, the Indian cricketers will carry on this new jersey in the upcoming World Cup in England and Wales.

After that event, Prithvi Shaw spent time with MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. The young cricketer posted their picture on his official social media accounts. In that post, he also added a famous line from the “Apna time ayega” rap from the recently released Bollywood movie “Gully Boy”. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer movie have earned positive response since its release.

Prithvi Shaw wrote in that post, “Yeh BHAI log jaisa koi Hard ich nahi hai @virat.kohli @mahi7781 #legends”

Prithvi Shaw returns to cricket after recovering from injury

The youngster Prithvi Shaw seems very inspired from the “Gully Boy” movie. During the last Australia tour, Prithvi Shaw faced a painful ankle injury that forced him to miss the entire Test series. Recently, he has returned to the game after recovering from the injury. At present, he is playing for Mumbai in the ongoing 2018/19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Before the tournament, he announced his return to the game on social his media accounts. Posting his image with a bat, he captioned, “Aapna time aayega…Injury se fit hoke…Mein aur run banayega…Aapna time aayega…#Gullycrickettointernationalcricket ? #ps100”

In the ongoing domestic T20 tournament (Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy), Prithvi Shaw has scored 10, 8, 0, 71, 6 and 36 runs respectively. His team Mumbai has qualified for the Super League stage of the tournament. In the ongoing Group Stages of the tournament, Mumbai is on top in Group C with 20 points. The side has won five matches and lost one match in the ongoing Group Stages.

After this tournament, Prithvi Shaw will play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019.
