The Indian National Cricket team skipper Virat Kohli has been a modern great breaking record at ease. Kohli has made run-scoring look easy and has scored runs around the globe. The talismanic run-scorer has often been compared to another batting great Sachin Tendulkar.
Virat Kohli was recently in action during the five-match series against Australia. Although his side lost the series from 2-0 up, Kohli had an excellent time with the bat. He scored two centuries in the series and broke an array of records. The Indian skipper has made scoring centuries a regular job which has earned him accolades like he is from a different planet. Recently, Kevin Pietersen also said that Kohli’s batting has made them look like muppets.

They are very similar
While many have compared him with Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli has always maintained that the former batsman is his idol. He has a lot of respect of Tendulkar who has often visited stadium to watch Kohli bat. Recently in a chat, head coach Ravi Shastri was quizzed about the comparison between Kohli and Tendulkar. Shastri; however, maintained that he doesn’t want to compare leaders. Meanwhile, he added that both Tendulkar and Kohli are very similar kind of players-in determination, concentration, and in passion. But, Shastri feels each one of them is a legend to their generations.

“I do not compare leaders. If there is one man who stands out because of sheer performances and averages, it is Donald Bradman. Sobers, in his time, was the best cricketer. Kohli and Tendulkar are very, very similar… the sacrifices they make, the determination, the concentration, the passion. Both are role models. When you have a level of performance that high, you are going to be compared, but it’s each one to his generation,” Shastri said to TOI.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s next assignment will be the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore and will look to give them their maiden IPL title. But, Kohli will aim the ICC World Cup which starts in May in England and Wales. He will be desperate to lead his side from the front and help India lift their third title.
