Over the years, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli has turned himself into a modern-day great of the game. He has done incredibly well by dominating oppositions across the formats with his style of play. He garnered huge praises for his work ethic and the success he attained. Meanwhile, the latest to join the bandwagon is Glenn McGrath, who felt that Kohli will join Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara in terms of greatness.
Recently, Virat Kohli bagged all the major honours at the ICC annual awards for his incredible run in 2018 season. Besides that, he was also named as the captain of the Test and ODI teams of the years.
Virat Kohli is a class player – Glenn Mcgrath
Speaking of Virat Kohli, Glenn Mcgrath quoted that the Indian skipper is one of the best in the current cricketing world. He believes that Kohli will be placed right next to Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara by the end of his glorious cricketing career.

Further, he went to add saying that it would be fine until he keeps his emotions in check during the course of his career. And also, McGrath feels that Kohli has matured a lot.
“Kohli is a class player. He is easily one of the best going around now. By the end of his career he will be held up there alongside the likes of Lara and Tendulkar. As a captain and player he is quite aggressive. He likes getting involved in the game. As long as the emotions do not run too much and if he is playing well, it is fine. He has matured a lot and he knows his game,” Glenn McGrath quoted.
There are no obvious weaknesses in his game:
Glenn McGrath also quoted that it is tough to rattle the wicket of Virat Kohli. However, he suggested that going hard at the Indian National Cricket Team skipper during his initial phase at the crease would help the bowlers get his wicket.

“He has got the respect of his players. Watching the way he batted in Australia, the only thing I would have said to the home bowlers is I would have preferred them to bowl a little bit short and be more aggressive when he first came out to bat. A lot of times they tried to swing the ball and if it is full, he is in complete control. There is no obvious weakness in his game. To get him out early is a massive bonus,” McGrath said.
As Glenn McGrath said, Virat Kohli has matured a lot and got very fewer errors in his game. It would be interesting to see how the Indian skipper approaches the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
