Today New Zealand and Pakistan played their first T20I of the 3 T20I-match series at Auckland. New Zealand sent Pakistan to the bat first after winning the toss. Pakistan put 171/8 on the board. Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez made 61 runs for Pakistan side while Shahid Afridi (23 runs in 8 balls) and Umar Akmal (24 balls in 14 balls) played quick-fire knocks.
In reply, New Zealand were bowled out at 155 runs. They started very well but failed to capitalize on the start as middle order collapsed. Mohammad Amir made a comeback in the international cricket and grabbed 1 wicket. Pakistan won the T20I by 16 runs and lead the series by 1-0.
