The Gunners are a busy side in this transfer market after their dull end to the summer transfer window that saw them complete just one deal.
Recent reports have suggested that 21 year old Glen Kamara who made his first senior appearance in an Arsenal shirt in the 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in the League cup earlier this season is all set to leave the club on a loan deal till the end of the season.
The Finland international who is on the fringes of Wenger’s plans for this season has agreed a loan move to Southend United till the end of the season.
Kamara left the Roots Hall in 2012 to join the London franchise and will return to the club once again after having failed to get opportunities to prove himself.
Shrimpers boss Phil Brown confirmed he has been following the midfielder for nearly two months.
“We have been chasing Glen for about six weeks now and I’m very pleased to have got the deal done,” Brown told the Echo.
“It stopped for a little while when Ben Coker got injured and we had to concentrate on bringing in a left-back.
“But the opportunity presented itself yesterday to get the deal done and, just like the others players we have brought in, I think it will help us improve significantly.”
Southend are currently placed ninth in League one and it is believed that Kamara can play a huge role to revive their season and help them reach the play offs at the end of the season.
Kamara might find it hard to find a regular spot in the Arsenal first team and this deal is one of the best chances for him to change the manager’s mind and find a place in his plans.
