WWE Raw has received the biggest acquisition on their roster in the form of AJ Styles during Superstar Shakeup. He readily performed in his first match on the flagship show in over a year that was certainly a dream match. The three prime babyface forces in all of WWE teamed up in a massive tag team match as the fun-ride following Wrestlemania 35 continues in the WWE.
WWE advertised a mystery man was coming to WWE Raw from the get-go of last night’s WWE Raw who will compete in a six-man tag team match. The interviewers tried to get the insider scoop from Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins about that mystery name but which remained disclosed until the main event arrived. It appeared to be none other than The Phenomenal One who left his house of Smackdown to build a new one.
The Montreal crowd showered him with the biggest pop of the night after which the main event of WWE Raw was underway. The heels were in total control in the early going of the match until Seth Rollins hit a superkick on Drew McIntyre. Roman Reigns downed him with a Superman Punch and followed up with Drive-By on Baron Corbin. AJ Styles pulled off a sweet finish to the match by delivering a Phenomenal Forearm on Lashley. But we should note that there was no progression in the Universal Championship storyline, for now.
Seth Rollins walked out of Wrestlemania 35 as the new Universal Champion on April 7th. He finally earned the nickname of being the Beast Slayer by defeating the former Champion, Brock Lesnar. With the ‘show of shows’ in the past, we did not expect Lesnar to come back with the pledge for a rematch, at all. This leads to the speculation of who’d be the new opponent for him over the title.
We expected to receive an announcement on last week’s episode of WWE Raw. But it was the post-Wrestlemania episode that witnessed no storyline progress, at all. He had a fun match against WWE Champion Kofi Kingston with the ‘winner takes all’ stipulation. Later, the interrupted match became a tag team match as both the champions defeated The Bar in the main event.
Thereafter, reports were available on the internet suggesting who Seth Rollins might start a feud with, from this week’s episode of WWE Raw. Drew McIntyre was the favorite one to become the new challenger of the champion since WWE sees him as the bonafide heel of the red brand. However, there’s still no confirmed update on whether he will get the championship match in the near future.
