The 2019 edition of Superstar Shakeup has arrived in the WWE. Starting from last night of WWE Raw the process of redesigning the rosters have begun effective, immediately. We have already seen the newly added members of the flagship show starting from now. Tonight it will be the turn of Smackdown Live to do so in the continuation of the process which WWE is promoting with an international tag.
The Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada will be the host of the second night of Superstar Shakeup which now hints that some big-time changes could be waiting for us. Slice Wrestling has come up with the news that WWE officials are considering to load up Smackdown Live as much as possible to give a tough competition to the flagship show.
The main reason behind doing this is that Smackdown will be moving to Fox Sports starting from October 2019. They demanded the change from the officials. Here’s more from the source,
“WWE Is Expected To Make #SmackDownLive A Much Bigger Show Beginning With This Year’s #SuperstarShakeUp Due To The Move To FOX. WWE Will Look To Load Up On Bigger Stars For The Blue Brand Heading Into The Shake-Up.”
As you can see, Smackdown may acquire the bigger names of the roster from WWE Raw just raise up their status to a significant extent. The source did not hint which superstars could make their way into the blue brand but we should not be surprised to see Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Ronda Rousey or even Brock Lesnar heading into the blue brand. This will automatically garner some attention for the Tuesday Night Show.
We have already reported in the past that Fox Sports wants a healthy competition between WWE Raw and Smackdown. So they sounded their pledge to get names like Brock Lesnar or Ronda Rousey into the roster. This will not only provide star powers to the show but will also make the program more like a sports-oriented show rather than the entertainment feel that WWE intends to come up with.
Well, some of the fans do feel that Smackdown is way more compact show than WWE Raw with its great storylines and the two-hour run. But for some reasons, WWE always wanted to present it as the B-Show of the company in comparison to the flagship brand. This trend might just come to an end starting from this year’s Superstar Shakeup. Tonight is indeed going to be vital as it would set the stepping stone of the future of Smackdown Live.
