ToggleRajasthan Royals’ (RR) Jaydev Unadkat played an imperative role in hosts win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday night. Unadkat, who helped his side to win the game by seven wickets, further prove vital on the field in one of the IPL 2019 games. He has taken two excellent catches which include a spectacular catch of Deepak Hooda before doing theatrics.
In the previous matches, Unadkat had leaked runs, but he has shown his temperament by backing his potential, The promising left-arm paceman bagged Man of the Match award for conceding 26 runs to snare two scalps in his quota of four overs. Apart from it, he has impressed his team and staff with his acrobatic stuff on the field.
Earlier, Royals skipper Steven Smith won the toss to ask Kane Williamson-led side for batting first. In the 45th match, on April 27, Hyderabad had a cautious start. But they have faltered at the fag end of the innings. In-form Manish Pandey was the top-scorer with 36-ball 61. Opening batsman David Warner faced 32 balls for his 37.
The visitors could post 160 for eight in 20 overs. The excellent bowling from hosts bowlers put things back on the track for Royals. Varun Aaron, Oshane Thomas and Shreyas Gopal also bagged two wickets each.
Unadkat outstretched himself:
On the second delivery of 17th over of SRH’s innings, Hooda clearly misread the change of pace on the off-stump channel. The right-handed batsman tried to guide the ball on the on-side region. But he ended up chipping the ball straight in the air. It subsequently saw Unadkat stretching his left hand to pluck the ball out of thin air. Thus, Hooda returned while facing the very first ball of his innings.
This was not the first time, on the 3rd delivery of 20th over, Unadkat ran from short fine to claim a spectacular catch at the backward square are to put an end of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s innings on the bowling of Aaron.
