The inaugural Indian Premier League champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) mostly disappointed in the IPL 2019. In their latest IPL season, RR earned just 11 points (14 matches) at the end after winning only five matches (lost eight matches and one had no result).
In the 12th edition of IPL, RR failed to play to their potential. They were hardly consistent in IPL 2019 as they won two consecutive matches in this season only once.
In the mid-season, RR management changed the captaincy as Steven Smith replaced Ajinkya Rahane for that role. Since Smith’s return to RR captaincy, they managed to win three out of five matches (they lost one match and one had no result), but it was too late for them to make a proper impact in the points table.
RR management will surely rethink about this squad ahead of the next IPL Auction. Some of the players are in danger to face release from the squad before the next IPL Auction. Here are three RR players who could be released ahead of the new IPL Auction.
Ashton Turner

The Australian cricketer Ashton Turner disappointed in IPL 2019 who was bought for INR 50 lakh (base price) in 2019 IPL Auction. While it was his first IPL season, he scored three golden ducks in his first three matches and then he scored an unbeaten 3 runs.
Though he played this tournament with a shoulder injury, the franchise may look for the other options in the next season due to their limited overseas choice. As RR has fulfilled their all eight overseas players’ spots, they need to release one overseas player to buy a new overseas cricketer in the next IPL auction.
