Last week’s RAW saw a huge upset when Brie Bella pinned the Divas champion Charlotte in a non-title match. Apparently this surprising pinfall has to do with the matchup of Brie Bella vs. Charlotte at the February 21st WWE Fastlane pay-per-view.

The match was premature and it was purely a strategic booking by WWE. The feud between Brie and Charlotte is being done because there’s a feeling of some sympathy towards Nikki Bella, because of her neck surgery and current status. The longest reigning Divas champion Nikki Bella has gone under the knife for a neck injury and is currently out of action. The possible feud will also help to promote the reality TV series Total Divas which is currently in its fifth season considering both of the sisters are the main star powers for the show.

WWE is planning to have the Brie vs. Charlotte as a short feud and there are no intentions as of right now to continue it after Fastlane or during the Wrestlemania 32 phase. No word yet on who Charlotte will defend against at Wrestlemania but it appears they are setting up Sasha Banks for that role or we may get a triple threat match between Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. But before that, she will defend her title against Brie at Fastlane.
Brie is with no storyline as of now with her sister and husband both sidelined due to injury. She is a former a one-time holder of the Divas Championship as well as the winner of Diva of the Year back in 2013 along with her sister Nikki.
