Rishabh Pant played a blinder of a knock along with Prithvi Shaw to guide Delhi Capitals to Qualifier 2 beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by two wickets in the Eliminator at Visakhapatnam. Delhi will now take on Chennai Super Kings to set up a final clash with Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Meanwhile, after Pant’s swashbuckling knock, former England skipper Michael Vaughan urged the Indian team to include Rishabh Pant for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales.
Pant leads the charge for Delhi
The selection panel headed by MSK Prasad overlooked Rishabh Pant in favour of Dinesh Karthik. Prasad reasoned that they went for the experience in Karthik in the upcoming marquee event. However, Pant has answered in great style scoring runs with the bat in the ongoing IPL. He has amassed 450 runs from 15 games including three fifties. The fifties came in the winning cause while today’s 21-ball 49 was an eye-pleasing sight during their 162 runs chase set by Hyderabad.

Rishabh Pant walked in the middle after Shreyas Iyer went back. He had the platform set by Prithvi Shaw to capitalise, and the young batsman did exactly so. He ran over the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling hitting five towering sixes and two fours to almost seal the tie. However, Pant will not be happy with himself for not finishing the game and leaving it Keemo Paul. But his scintillating knock has moved one and sundry and former English skipper Michael Vaughan has expressed it on Twitter. He seemed surprised with Pant’s omission from the World Cup squad and said that there is still time to rope in the team.
“How is @RishabPant777 not in the World Cup squad …… Pretty sure
#India still have time to change …….. !!!!!#Bonkers#IPL19,” Michael Vaughan tweeted.
