On May 4, the drafting of players was held. Besides, former BCC secretary Niranjan Shah is one of the representatives for the league.

“As players drafting was done on May 4, SPL governing council decided to have drafting system in the format of a draw for Cheteshwar in presence of representatives of all teams, former BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah, SCA office bearers, SPL Governing Council, representatives of an independent auditor and Cheteshwar himself,” the statement added.

Owing to a newly-based draw format, Kutch Warrior has opted out of the draw procedure of Pujara after availing the services of Jaydev Unadkat.

It’s important to point out that Pujara has picked one of the four chits from the bowl. However, thus the name Royals came to the fore.

The other four teams in the competition include Halar Heroes, Sorath Lions and Gohilwad Gladiators.

The tournament will run between May 14 and 22 respectively. The broadcasting giant Star Sports will telecast the tourney.

The professional T20 league has grabbed eyeballs ahead of its kick-off.

Since 2007, Pujara has featured in 64 T2Os to amass 1356 runs at an average of 29.47. He has a hundred and seven half-centuries under his belt.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) Pujara has represented Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
