Shivam Dube has faced a torrid time while scoring just 40 runs in four innings of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2019), for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Despite having a dismal run with the bat, Dube has been one of the youngsters to rub shoulders with the star players like de Villiers and RCB skipper Virat Kohli.

Dube is optimistic after receiving vital tips from de Villiers in a bid to improve himself in crunch situations of the game.

On the other side, RCB has faltered while losing the first six matches on the trot. Also, they have returned to win three games on the bounce. And, again they’ve finished on the bottom of the table with eight points in 14 matches.

“ABD (De Villiers) always told me to keep a positive attitude in any situation. And it has really helped solve my problems in tough situations. He’s a great team player and even as a senior. He always motivated me in practice as well as in the matches,” Dube told IANS.

While speaking about his performance, Dube maintained he has given it all. He added he is capable to do far better.

Also, Dube didn’t get a chance to bowl. He remarked he is confident of doing best in the foreseeable future.

“I gave my 100 per cent but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for our team as a whole. I know I have more to achieve and I can definitely do much better,” Dube further added.

Meanwhile, Dube is set to partake in the impending Mumbai Twenty20 League. He would be keen to shrug off his wretched run particularly with the bat.
