The loss in the final was not only the major worry for Chennai Super Kings but also, they have something big, which would give them sleepless night. Yes, it is the availability of MS Dhoni for the next year edition of the tournament. Will he play IPL 2020? Or else, will he quit after ICC World Cup 2019? There are quite a few questions on the table.
However, giving everyone a sigh of relief, the skipper of Chennai Super Kings, who is called ”Thala” has revealed that he would hopefully play the tournament in one more edition. MS Dhoni revealed it when Sanjay Manjrekar asked his availability for IPL 2020 in the post-match presentation.

Reply to Sanjay, MS Dhoni said ”Hopefully, yes” So, if everything goes as per the plan and if the fitness allows Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he would be seen in Yellow jersey yet again.
We will give some time to dust off – Stephen Fleming
Meanwhile, Stephen Fleming wants to give some time for the next year edition, as the final stains are still fresh on their Jersey. However, he feels that at one stage, they need to change the core of the team with the age catching up for quite a few players that include MS Dhoni as well.

“We will give some time for the dust to settle down,” Fleming said. “I think if you win one title and reach the final next time, we have had good two years. We know we are an ageing team. So, at some point, we just have to look at recreating the side, obviously MS as well.”
In between, the head coach Stephen Fleming also quoted that they will have a look at new players in the ICC World Cup 2019. With MS Dhoni travelling overseas for the tournament. Fleming believes that Dhoni could identify the player for Chennai Super Kings.

”He will be travelling to the World Cup. A lot of talent has been established in other teams. You need to do it carefully and get the balance right when you try to go for players who you think can deliver for us.”
All in all, the loss will give a few sleepless nights for CSK management and the players, as they were just 1 run short to the winning tally. Despite that, they had a good journey in the tournament.
