The last few months of Shakib Al Hasan is all about his availability for the team. The flamboyant cricketer from Bangladesh has suffered a finger injury. It kept him away from the team in the international matches as well. However, he made a successful recovery from it and finally got into the playing XI but, now, once again he sustained an injury.
During the match between Ireland and Bangladesh, which is the last league match of the Tri-series, Shakib Al Hasan was seen retire hurt. The flamboyant striker of the ball scored a brilliant fifty while chasing the massive tally on the board but couldn’t quite carry on, as he suffered a side strain.

We are confident Shakib Al Hasan will be fine – BCB selector
Shakib, who leads Bangladesh in the Test and T20I formats, had been seen holding his left side and received lengthy treatment from the physio before showing visible signs of pain after playing a pull shot following the treatment. He was asked to get out of the crease, as he isn’t 100% fit.
“He did not sustain any serious injury as far as we are concerned,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz. “We did not want to take any risk with him so we opted to bring him back but we are confident that he will be fine soon.”

Without Shakib, Bangladesh reached its target with seven overs to spare to make it three straight wins in the tournament. Openers Liton Das and Tamim Iqbal both hit half-centuries with scores of 76 and 57 respectively, while Mahmudullah (35 not out) and Sabbir Rahman (7 not out) finished the job.
All in all, the seamer Abu Jayed’s first five-wicket haul in only his second ODI coupled with the fifties from Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan led Bangladesh to a six-wicket win and kept Ireland winless in the tri-series.
Now, they will be looking to end the tournament on a positive note by winning the final against Windies on May 17th. It would certainly lift their spirits and help them perform better in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
