Robin Uthappa had one of the poor seasons in the Indian Premier League in his entire career when he plied his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2019. His slow knock at Wankhede has made him be on the headlines for all the wrong reasons. However, things like those were the part and parcel of the cricketer’s career.
Meanwhile, in the latest move, the experienced right-handed batsman Robin Uthappa set to join the Kerala team for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. Last year, he left his home state Karnataka and plied his trade for Saurashtra Cricket team, now, he is all set to join Kerala Team for the next season.

Robin Uthappa will join the team as the opening batsman by replacing Kerala’s outstation player Arun Karthik, who is the native of Tamil Nadu. Uthappa needs to get the No Objection certificate from Saurashtra Cricket Association in order to join the team for the upcoming edition.

This is not the first time that Kerala has approached him for the Ranji stint. He was previously asked by them a couple of years ago but Uthappa was reluctant to back the. Meanwhile, Kerala association has asked Dav Whatmore to continue his services as the coach for the team.
Last year, Kerala reached semifinals of the tournament, which is a big thing for them. Apart from Robin Uthappa, Jalaj Saxena, who has been exceptional for the team will continue in his role as the second outstation player for the team. Actually, Jalaj Saxena hails from Madhya Pradesh.
