At the end of this calendar year, India A women’s cricket team will travel in Australia to play the limited-overs bilateral series against the host side Australia A women’s cricket team. This tour is the part of an agreement between the Cricket Australia (CA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

According to the agreement between CA and BCCI, they will organise annual A series in women’s cricket. Last October, Australia A women’s cricket team first time toured in India. In that tour, they played three unofficial ODIs and three unofficial T20Is against India A women.

Australia A women’s cricket team won that unofficial ODI series by 3-0. Meanwhile, India A women’s cricket team won the unofficial T20I series by 3-0.

In this December, India A women’s cricket team will tour in Australia for the first time. Once again, it will be the three-match unofficial ODI series and three-match unofficial T20I series between Australia A women and India A women. These limited-overs bilateral series will run from 12th December 2019 to 23rd December 2019.

Another important step in the evolution of the National Talent Pathway

Shawn Flegler, Australia’s Female High-Performance Manager, has claimed that it is an essential step in the evolution of their National Talent Pathway.

Flegler said, “Hosting the first A tour for our female cricketers is another important step in the evolution of the National Talent Pathway.

“A lot of work has gone into the women’s pathway and we’ve already seen numerous players come through the system and show they are capable to taking the next step to international level.

“We now have annual tours for our Australia Under 19 team, the Women’s National Performance Squad is in its third year and now being able to schedule regular Australia A tours, both at home and away is the icing on the cake.”
