After a stunning defeat against a new-look Sri Lankan team at Pune on Tuesday, India is now desperate to win the second T20I match of the 3-match T20 series on Friday. Both the matches are a must-win game for India team. The winner of the series will top the T20I ranking.
Indian batsmen collapsed against the Sri Lankan pacers in the first T20I. India suffered a 5 wicket defeat in the first match. India is now winless in their 4 last four matches at home, which they would not want to stretch it any further.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka would like to carry on this form further.
The second T20I will be played at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi which is also Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s home city. It will be the first ever T20I on this ground. From the past experience, the pitch suits the spinners. India is unbeaten in international cricket at this venue.
India will probably remain unchanged in the second T20I but they will surely look for a much pitch for this match. On the other hand, Tillakaratne Dilshan may make a comeback in the XI who missed out first T20I due to hand injury while leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay can also make the comeback into the team.
India’s probable XI: MS Dhoni (c & wk), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Ashish Nehra.
