The celebrated fast bowler Glenn McGrath is eager to watch the impending 2019 World Cup which is scheduled in England and Wales. The tourney will commence from May 30 at Kennington Oval in London. He has also named his top three teams for the ODI showpiece which will run until July 14 at an iconic Lord’s.

The 49-year-old legendary bowler McGrath has himself represented Australia in 39 matches which further saw him bowling remarkably well. While featuring for the five-time World Cup champions, McGrath has bagged 71 wickets at an impressive average of 18.20.

Moreover, McGrath has claimed two four-wicket hauls. Eventually, his career-best read seven for 15 which came against Namibia during the February 27 at Potchefstroom.

Interestingly, he has named all the favourites which include reigning champions Australia followed by India and hosts England. While taking to Instagram, McGrath has backed his national team thoroughly.

Concurrently, the No.1 ranked Three Lions have played a significant role. Post-2015 World Cup debacle, Eoin Morgan-led side has improved in emerging as firm favourites for the marquee.

Meanwhile, the veteran remarked ‘it kills him’ to reiterate that England are the favourites to lift the tile.

On the other hand, McGrath said India has been playing an aggressive brand of cricket, but he is not sure how India will perform on the English soil.

While speaking about Australia, McGrath maintained they’re confident while delivering at the right moment. Recently, Australia has registered series wins over India and Pakistan.

The Aaron Finch-led side has won eight matches on the trot which includes three against Men in Blue followed by five against depleted-looking Pakistan.

Also, McGrath is convinced that Australia will be in good stead following the return of Steven Smith and David Warner respectively in the fold.

McGrath culminated his statement by expressing that Australia is capable of retaining their title. But at the same time, McGrath conceded England is a team to beat.

“Looking forward to the 2019 Cricket World Cup starting on May 30. My 3 top teams are England, India & of course Australia. As much as it kills me to say, @englandcricket are the favourites, they’ve got a good team & play a great brand of quality, aggressive ODI cricket. @indiancricketteam play a similar style of cricket but how will they go on UK wickets? Australia, well they’re peaking at the right time. With wins against India in India & Pakistan in the UAE their confidence will be up plus the added boost of having @steve_smith49 & @davidwarner31 back. I think the Aussies can lift the cup again but the English are going to be tough to beat #cricketworldcup2019,” McGrath wrote on his Instagram.

Meanwhile, Australia had begun their warm-up match against hosts England on Saturday (May 25) at The Rose Bowl in Southampton.

However, they will commence their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on June 1st in Bristol.
