We are just a couple of days away from the start of the 2019 World Cup and it will be hosts England taking on South Africa in the opening match of the competition on 30th May. It will be one of the best World Cups ever as all the teams will get a chance to play at least once against each other. It gives enough time for a team to recover from their loss and still give themselves a chance to go through to the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, as all the teams gear up for the showpiece event, India’s World Cup hero in 2011 Yuvraj Singh picked his finalists for the quadrennial event. In the next 6 weeks, all the 10 teams will be involved in a fierce battle between bat and the ball. All the 10 teams have the ability to stage an upstage but host England and India will definitely enter the World Cup as one of the pre-tournament favourites.

Afghanistan, the lowest ranked team in the tournament has already defeated Pakistan in the warm-up clash and has rung warning bells to other teams. India, on the other hand, lost their opening warm-up clash against New Zealand.

Yuvraj Singh was the standout performer for India in the 2011 World Cup and was adjudged the Player of the Series owing to his consistent performances with both bat and the ball during the course of the tournament. Yuvraj has picked India and England as the two finalists of the tournament as he feels the two teams have been the most dominant side in the last four years.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh also added that Australia, the defending champions will be n contention yet again especially given the fact that they know how to raise their game in a big ICC event. Australia is the most successful nation in the World Cup and has already won 5 World Cup titles.

“I feel India and England have a very good chance of making it to the final. Australia, yes, since (David) Warner and Steve (Smith) came back; they also have a very good bowling attack. These three teams are pretty much likely to be in the last four,” Yuvraj Singh was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
