The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has landed themselves into trouble after they had failed to comply with the norms and protocols of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The world governing body made it mandatory for the teams to send their players to the mixed media interaction after the conclusion of a match.

BCCI didn’t follow the protocol and didn’t send any of their players to media interaction after conclusion of the match against New Zealand. The ICC has taken note of it and sent a letter to BCCI.

As per the member’s participation agreement signed by all the boards participating in the tournament, all the players of the team must be sent for a media interaction after a match irrespective of the result.

As per the agreement, all 15 members in the squad should be present for interaction at least for a brief period. However, the ICC made it clear that it will be fine if the teams send three to four players for the media interaction.

Not a single Indian player was present during the media interaction after the World Cup warm-up clash against New Zealand which they lost by 6 wickets. Meanwhile, quite a few New Zealand players were present during the media interaction. As per reports in the Bangalore Mirror, it is learnt that the ICC has written to the BCCI.

They are actually worried of the fact that other teams will take a cue from the Indians and start neglecting media interaction after the conclusion of a World Cup match. The journalists are generally allowed a couple of questions for each player.
