Windies has had to face an injury scare when the prominent allrounder Andre Russell has pulled his lower part of the left leg during the second match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 against Pakistan at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
When Windies’ bowlers were breathing down the neck of batsmen, Russell appeared to be writhing in pain before going down at fine leg region. However, Russell has straightaway asked for help, which eventually saw team physio attending the prominent face of Caribbean cricket.
Russell received treatment beyond the boundary ropes when 22nd over of Pakistan’s innings was in progress.

The incident unfolded when Oshane Thomas breathed fire before Russell attempted to collect the ball at his designated position.
Meanwhile, the extent of the injury is yet to be known when Windies were looking to chase a target of 106.
Earlier, Windies won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. In the overcast conditions, the Caribbean bowlers have made most of the opportunity by doing remarkably well.
Thomas alongside Sheldon Cottrell has peppered Pakistan batsmen with short pitch deliveries which eventually saw wickets falling like a pack of cards.
For Windies, Thomas has emerged as the chief protagonist with the ball. He has conceded just 27 runs in 5.2 over to claim a four-wicket haul.
However, Jason Holder managed to clinch three scalps, where Cottrell managed a wicket of Imam-Ul-Haq.

Russell, who has himself settled with two prized scalps in the form of Fakhar Zaman and Haris Sohail. The medium pacer has just four runs in three overs while giving away only four runs. To atop it, Russell has also sent down a maiden over.
Meanwhile, in the run-chase, Windies have already crossed the 50-run mark in six over with two wickets down. Interestingly, Russell is two runs short to score 1,000 ODI runs since making his debut in 2011.
