England have been to their best against Bangladesh on Saturday. Having lost to Pakistan in their previous game, England are on the right frame of mind from the very first ball.

After winning the toss, Mortaza put England to bat first. And English openers started cautiously before accelerating in tremendous style. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow out up a century stand for the first wicket.

Bairstow was dismissed for 51 but Roy was on a whole different level on the day. The aggressive batsman was dispatching ball to all parts of the ground. However, while reaching his hundred Jason Roy accidentally ran into the umpire. The player was looking towards the ball and did not observe the umpire on his way to his maiden World Cup hundred.

After reaching century, Jason Roy just switched gears. He took the attack completely to Bangladesh bowlers. Roy scored three sixes in consecutive deliveries before getting out on the fourth ball in 35th over. He scored an impressive 153 runs from just 121 balls.

Jos Buttler Show

After Jason Roy was dismissed, Jos Buttler took the responsibility of keeping up with the run rate. The hard hitting Buttler had played a fine knock scoring 64 runs from just 44 balls. He got ample support from his skipper Eoin Morgan.

Morgan, casually went through his business and gave plenty of strike to his partner Buttler in the innings. England eventually crossed 300 with ease towards the end. At one stage they looked to breach 400 mark in their innings. But quick wickets towards the end, ensured that they finish short of the magical figure. Even then they managed to score record 386/6 with some inspirational batting from Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett at the end.

Despite this, England managed to break few records in the process. They became the first ever side to score 300 in seven consecutive games. On the other hand, they also managed to scored their highest World Cup score surpassing 338/8 against India in 2011 World Cup.

Bangladesh will have a hard time chasing this total down. After a clinical performance by English batsmen, it remains to be seen how their bowlers would respond.
