We often come across the bowlers, skipper and the players keep on appealing the umpire when they are convinced of the wicket. One of those incidents took place in the game against Afghanistan when Virat Kohli continuously appealed the umpire in the last night game against Afghanistan.
Perhaps, the skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team was very much involved in the game. It kept him appealing the umpire more often than not. In fact, he argued with the umpire over DRS call as well.
When India took a DRS call for the Leg Before the appeal, the replays, which were slightly delayed, showed the ball is pitching outside leg despite the ball is taking a bit of park of the imaginary line. Regarding the same, he argued with the umpire and even abused as well.

One demerit point to Virat Kohli:
Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council has slapped Virat Kohli. He was fined for 25% of his match fees for excessive appealing. Apart from that, the Indian skipper was given one demerit point as well.
Further, they remarked the offence as Level 1. It means that he can be slapped with 1 or 2 demerit points but the officials are kind of him, who given him only one demerit point.
“In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to the disciplinary record of Kohli. For him, it was the second offence since the introduction of the revised Code in September 2016,” the ICC said in a statement on Sunday.

He was found to have breached Article 2.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “Excessive appealing during an International Match”.
The on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Richard Illingworth. And also, the third umpire Richard Kettleborough and fourth official Michael Gough levelled the charges. The Indian skipper Kohli has admitted to the offence and also accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Chris Broad nullifying the need for a formal hearing.
Despite that, Virat Kohli-led side won the contest against Afghanistan in the last over of the game. Now, they have 9 points in their kitty, which made them a strong candidate for the spot in the final four.
