The world cup 2019 has already witnessed quite a few interesting statements from the players and the latest one from the Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib will sit at top of the table. The Afghani quoted that they would like to take Bangladesh with them before making an exit from the tournament.
Afghanistan has no chance of making it to the knockouts after losing six out of six matches so far. However, Bangladesh is still in the hunt for the top finish. They have five points from six matches. A loss against Afghanistan will all but end their semifinal dream.
Afghanistan remains rooted to the bottom of the points table after six defeats in as many matches in their second World Cup appearance. They did not last their full 50 overs in their first four matches.

It was a streak, which they finally snapped in their comprehensive defeat by England on Tuesday. Gulabadin Naib men, however, draw motivation from Saturday’s narrow-miss against India when they fell 11 runs short of a major upset win over the two-time champions.
We are already drowning darling – Gulbadin Naib to Bangladesh
Speaking ahead of the clash against Bangladesh, Gulbadin Naib’s answer to a reporter tickled the funnier bone of the people present in the conference. He quoted that they have already drowned and they will make sure that Bangladesh also comes along with them for sinking.
“Hum to dube hai sanam, tumko lekar dubenge (We are already drowning darling, but we’ll take you with us),” Gulbadin Naib said in the pre-match press conference.

“We are not an easy team. The first four or five games, we played very badly but we are improving day by day, and hopefully, tomorrow will be our day.” I think we cannot take it easy against Bangladesh. They’re a good side and they proved themselves in this stage,” Gulbadin Naib told reporters on Sunday.
Both Afghanistan and Bangladesh have faced each other seven times in ODI cricket. Their first match was played in March 2014 wherein Afghanistan stunned Bangladesh by winning the match by 32 runs.
However, Bangladesh leads the head-to-head count by 4-3 and would look to extend their lead. It will be a must-win match for the Bangladesh, who needs to win every match in the World Cup to bag a semi-final spot.
