Ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah is keen to continue playing for India at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. In his maiden World Cup edition, the right-arm fast bowler has bowled his heart out. So far, he snared 14 scalps in seven matches.
Being listed sixth on the most wicket-takers at World Cup, Bumrah has conceded just 295 runs off 384 deliveries. He has a four-wicket haul to his name which came against Bangladesh at Edgbaston on Tuesday (July 2). Bumrah has also helped the Men in Blue to seal their spot for the semi-finals.
With six wins in eight matches, India has become the second team to make it to the knockout stages after bagging 13 points. They will play Sri Lanka in their last league stage match in the 44th match of the World Cup on Saturday (July 6) at Headingley in Leeds.
Meanwhile, Bumrah, who had made a norm of bowling searing yorkers finished off their tie against the Tigers by removing Rubel Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman in successive deliveries.
Earlier, India put up a formidable total of 314 for nine in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul stitched 180-run partnership which further saw Virat Kohli leading from the front.
Rohit blasted the fourth ton of this World Cup edition to make it overall 26 while playing his 213th ODI. In between, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya did their best to up the ante but the duo return to the pavilion which saw MS Dhoni doing what he could have done on a relatively double-paced surface.
At the fag end of India’s innings, Dhoni helped India to go-past 300-run mark.

In response, Bangladesh had some grit which saw Shakib Al Hasan smashing a fine half-century apart from Mohammad Saifuddin’s unbeaten 51 off 38 balls. Following a four-for from Bumrah, the Tigers were restricted at 286 in 48 overs.
Following a splendid effort with the ball, Bumrah is keen to continue his show against Sri Lanka.

When asked India had sealed their place in the top four are ‘you mulling to take a break for the Sri Lanka game, or continue to play which you deem as a first priority’. To which, Bumrah responded that he’s yet to become a senior player who has a say to decide whether to rest or play.
However, the optimistic bowler maintained he has often backed himself to play cricket. He also believes one enjoy partaking in the games. Besides, and if cricketer gets more games, he tends to enjoy it as well.
“This is my first World Cup, so I want to play as many games as possible. I don’t think I’ve become an experienced player that I could say I don’t want to play some games. Yeah, I always look forward to playing. And the more number of matches you play, you enjoy more,” Bumrah revealed in a press conference.
Bumrah, this is clear in his thoughts to feature in the dead rubber against the Islanders.
