Bangladesh national cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka in the late this month to play three ODIs against the hosts. It will be the first international cricket assignment in Sri Lanka since the Easter bombings last April.
This series was planned early this year. Initially, Bangladesh had a plan to tour Sri Lanka in December 2019. But later, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wished to tour Sri Lanka early this year to avoid the clash with 2019/20 Bangladesh Premier League. The 2019/20 BPL is likely to begin on 6th December 2019.
Meanwhile, since the Easter bombings incident last April, the BCB put on hold on their confirmation of this series. After monitoring the security situation in Sri Lanka, the BCB has finally given the green signal on this series. Bangladesh will now travel to Sri Lanka in late this month to play the three-match ODI bilateral series against the home team.

The media director of BCB, Jalal Yunus told ESPNcricinfo, “We have done our security assessment and we wanted to play all the games in Colombo. We are ready to go ahead with the tour.”
