Amidst all the speculations regarding the retirement, the ex-skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team Mahendra Singh Dhoni, himself, made unavailable for the tour to West Indies. It is learnt that MS Dhoni is going to be part of the Army Work in the next couple of months.
According to a report on PTI, Dhoni, the Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army, has decided to spend the next two months with his regiment. The report further said that he has intimated his decision to the BCCI prior to the selection committee meeting on Sunday.

PTI quoted a BCCI official as saying, “Dhoni has made himself unavailable for the tour of West Indies as he will be spending two months with his paramilitary regiment.”
MS Dhoni is not retiring from Cricket:
Further, the source revealed that MS Dhoni is taking a sabbatical leave for the period of the next two months. He would be serving his country via Army They also made sure that Dhoni is nowhere near the retirement.

The official, however, further claimed that Dhoni, 38, is nowhere close to retiring at the moment. “We would like to say three things. He is not retiring from cricket right now. He is taking a two-month sabbatical to serve his paramilitary regiment which he had committed much earlier,” he said.
So, Dhoni made himself unavailable for the tour. Rishabh Pant is most likely to take the responsibility behind the stumps in the limited-overs format. He is even expected to stand as the primary stumper in Tests, while Wriddhiman Saha will be the back-up option.
Dhoni had a decent World Cup 2019 campaign. He scored 273 runs in nine matches at an average of 45.50. And despite his run tally having two fifties, with both coming at a very slow strike rate, Dhoni’s intent was questioned by the fans and veterans of the game.
India’s next limited-overs assignment will be a three-T20 series against South Africa in India from September 15. Probably, he would play that series.
