It seems like BCCI is going to be affected by the excess of competition in the youth. Amidst all the burden, a tension made its way to the board, as a couple of young cricketers from Uttar Pradesh Prashant Gupta (31) and Imitiaz Ahmed (33) wants to end their trade with BCCI and wants to play elsewhere.

Regarding the same, they announced their retirement and are waiting for the No-Objection Certificate from the board. The duo, who started their career in the same match wrote a mail to BCCI to announce their retirement and sought for NOC letter.

Prashanth Gupta made his debut at 19:

As per the reports, the duo wants to ply their trade outside the country. However, the offer for the duo is yet to know. Amidst, BCCI is still holding their letter for the young cricketers.

The competition is always very tough at UP. Making it to the Ranji Squad at the age of 19 was a big moment and a turning point for him.  He didn’t score centuries in the Under 22 matches but got a couple of 90+ scores and was batting well.

The selectors opted for him and drafted in the squad since some of the senior players were not doing well at that time.  Meanwhile, Prashanth Gupta believes that his time with BCCI has come to end.

Further, he doesn’t see himself playing for India in the near future which is the main reason for this call. Also, he doesn’t want the same routine to follow year after year. And also, he revealed his wish to play overseas.

Gupta is the best batsman in the ranks for Railways. He was even asked to reconsider the decision, as he got a few more years in the game, which, Railways doesn’t want to miss. In the meantime, it is learnt that Prashant Chopra is already in the talks with a few overseas clubs to play T20 game.
