On Monday (5th August), the head coach of Indian national football team, Igor Stimac, has announced the 35-man probable squad for the training camp to prepare for the first two matches of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers – AFC Second Round will begin in the early next month. Besides this, it is also the qualification process of the AFC Asian Cup 2023. India is in the Group E along with Qatar, Oman, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. In the next month, India will play their first two matches of this qualifier-round against Oman and Qatar.

On 5th September, Guwahati will host India’s opening match of this qualifier-round against Oman. Five days later, on 10th September, India will face the hosts Qatar. Qatar will host the next FIFA World Cup in 2022, so they have already secured their place for this tournament.
In the latest FIFA ranking, Qatar is in the 62nd position, and Oman is in the 87th spot while India is the 103rd-ranked team.
Igor Stimac’s probable squad will meet in the training camp starts on 20th August
To prepare for these two crucial matches, Igor Stimac has announced the probable squad for the training camp. This camp will begin on 20th August in Goa.

Initially, Stimac has named the 34-member squad for the upcoming training camp. A few hours later, he has added the 27-year-old midfielder Rowllin Borges in this squad.
