Former Indian bowler Zaheer Khan suggested the bowlers of his choice in Test Format. He wants Navdeep Saini to join the team in Test cricket. The player made his international debut in West Indies Soil. He was selected in playing XI in T20I.

Saini has impressed everyone through his pace as he consistently bowls at 150 Kmph. In West Indies soil, he immediately captured the eye of everyone by picking 3/17 in his debutant T20I. The fast bowler has been a net bowler before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and has impressed everyone through his style. The Delhi lad has played 41 List A cricket and picked 65 wickets. He is much impressive in first-class cricket where he has picked 120 wickets in 43 first-class matches.

Zaheer Khan chatted in the program arranged by Abu Dhabi T10 League and broadcasted by Sony Pictures Sports Network. Zaheer opines that he would like Saini to play in Test cricket as in his view he is made for the longest format of cricket. He also wished Umesh Yadav to see back in the team.

“It’s important that the guys who are not part of the team are pushing those in the team,” Zaheer said when asked about the side’s bench strength.”It’s important that the guys on the fringe keep themselves motivated through the chances they get in domestic matches and India A games.”

I would love to see Umesh Yadav come back – Zaheer Khan

“I would love to see Umesh come back, I would like to see Saini get a chance in the longer format as that’s the format that suits him. Saini has got the pace and consistency in length,” Zaheer said.

Navdeep Saini was not able to pick the wicket in Bengaluru T20I against South Africa team but the player is confident for his performance. He earlier said that the West Indies tour gave him experience and confidence. Team management is also testing him for Test matches as he was given chance as a net bowler during the Test series against West Indies.
