The controversial cricketer S Sreesanth has confirmed that he will participate in 2024 Lok Sabha election. He will stand from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram constituency against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. Sreesanth joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March 2016, just ahead of the assembly election in Kerela. He lost the seat on the debut year in politics.
Sreesanth was banned by the BCCI for life after the spot-fixing case in 2013. Supreme Court reversed the decision in August 2019 and the ban has been reduced to seven years according to it. He will be eligible to play next year.

Shashi Tharoor has helped the player in his ups and downs but Sreesanth is ready to give the challenge to him. The 36-year-old talks to Indian Express about his future plan.
“I am a huge fan of his (sic) as a person who had stood by me but I will defeat him in the elections in Thiruvananthapuram. No doubt about it.”

Sreesanth opines that he is in control
After his Bigg Boss appearance, Sreesanth has gained the spotlight and is getting work in different fields. He is happy about his present and wants to work more.
“Now I am in control and so many good things are happening – from music, movies, books, web-series, cricket, and politics,” Sreesanth stated.
The pacer played 27 Test matches, 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is. He picked up 87 wickets in Test, 75 wickets in ODI and seven wickets in Test. He was in both winning team during the 2007 ICC World T20 and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
