Indian Test opener Mayank Agarwal dominated the day two of Visakhapatnam Test where he converted his maiden Test century to the incredible double century.
On Wednesday (2nd October), at the stumps of day one of this Test match, the 28-year-old right-handed batsman Mayank Agarwal was batting on 84 runs. While his opening partner Rohit Sharma was also not out on 115 runs, India managed to score 202/0 in that rain-interrupted day one.
Both these openers started day two in the same flow. In the first hour of Thursday (3rd October) morning, Mayank completed his maiden Test century. The right-handed batsman completed that century in 204 balls with the help of 13 fours and two sixes. After completing that century, he further stretched his impressive batting performance.

In the second session of day two, Mayank completed his 150 runs in 294 balls. Later, in the same session, Mayank reached the double-century mark in 358 balls. He hit 22 fours and five sixes to complete his outstanding double-century.
After reaching the 200 runs mark, Mayank has become the fourth Indian batsman to register a double-century on their maiden Test century knock. The detail list of this stats has been given below.

Indian openers Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma provided the giant 317 runs partnership for the opening wicket. Playing first time as a Test opener, Rohit scored 176 runs before losing his wicket through the stumped out. However, Mayank continued his glorious performance who is playing his first Test in India.
Mayank scored 215 runs off 371 balls (23 fours and 6 sixes) before losing his wicket. Coming to bowl his first over in this match, Dean Elgar dismissed Mayank after Dane Piedt took a catch at the deep midwicket.
Before this Test match, Mayank Agarwal played four away Tests and scored 275 runs (average 39.28). The right-handed batsman hit three half-centuries before this remarkable double century, including the previous best knock 77 runs.
