Dropped from the playing XI for Wriddhiman Saha in the first Test against South Africa, Rishabh Pant will now be working on his wicketkeeping skills with former India wicketkeeper and chief selector, Kiran More.

He confirmed the update to IANS but also added that there is no fixed schedule that he will be working with the youngster. “We don’t have a schedule, it is on and off and not official. We just share a good relation,” More told IANS.

Rishabh, who holds the record of fastest Indian wicketkeeper to affect 50 dismissals in Tests, was dropped from the playing XI for the ongoing Vizag Test as India wanted an experienced campaigner behind the stumps, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said.
Wriddhimana Saha had made his comeback to the Test side during the West Indies series but was kept out of playing XI. It was only about time and soon, Rishabh found himself out of the playing XI despite having better record with the bat.

Rishabh earned his maiden Test call-up in the absence of Saha. A surprise pick for the England tour, he made his debut in the third Test of the series. Rishabh scored a century in the fifth Test. Later that year, he also scored a century in Australia and became first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score centuries in two countries.
Although the recent criticism from Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli cost him dearly. The two criticised Rishabh before the South Africa T20I series and said that his shot selection has let the team down on occasions.

This saw Rishabh failing to get a place in the first Test. With Saha set to keep his place till the time he is there, the youngster now might have to wait for his chance for long
India next play Bangladesh at home were Rishabh could lose his place in the squad. Though he will be part of the team for the tour of New Zealand as Saha’s backup.
