Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to take over as BCCI’s Chief next week. The incoming of Ganguly could see a number of changes being made in BCCI and Ravi Shastri’s future as head coach is one of the biggest talking points.

Many believe that Ganguly might take a call on the coach once he comes to power but that is unlikely to happen as he has already been handed a two-year contract while Ganguly’s term as BCCI’s President will end in 10 months.

While addressing media in Kolkata, Ganguly answered number of questions – ranging from team India’s future to the pink-ball Test. Answering to a question on Shastri, Ganguly came up with a cheeky reply and said: “Why, what has Ravi Shastri done now?
It is a known fact that the duo does not share a good rapport. In 2016, when Shastri could not become team India’s head coach, he blamed Ganguly as he (Ganguly) wasn’t present during his interview. In response, Ganguly also hit back at former India all-rounder.

The duo continued to take on each their before the board asked them to bring the matter to an end. Last year, Shastri had revealed (on Breakfast with Champions) that when he was the team manager in 2007, the team bus left without Ganguly as he was late. Ganguly too responded to it and took a dig at the India coach.
Despite the two players not sharing a good rapport, it is unlikely that there will be a change in coach but yes, team India’s performances will now be scrutinised as the President is himself a former captain.

Under Virat Kohli, India have lost Test series in England and South Africa but there has been no update whether the board had a talk with Kohli. India have also not been able to win any of the two ICC tournaments under Kohli.
Ganguly, along with his team, will take over as BCI’s president on October 23.
