The Indian captain Virat Kohli has registered himself in the record books as he has become the first Indian batsman to score a Day-Night Test century. Kohli scored his 27th Test century as he batted at the top of his game in the second Test match against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens at Kolkata.

In fact, this is the 20th Test century for Virat Kohli as an Indian captain. Kohli overtook the record of former Australian captain Ricky Ponting who had scored 19 Test century as captain. Meanwhile, former South African captain Graeme Smith had scored 25 Test centuries as captain.

Kohli is the best in the business.

Furthermore, Virat Kohli also equaled Ricky Ponting record of most International centuries as a skipper. Both of these talisman players now have 41 hundred.

On the other hand, Lala Amarnath had become the first Indian player to score a Test century against England in Mumbai in 1933. Former captain Kapil Dev scored India’s first One Day International century in 1983. Furthermore, Suresh Raina had scored India’s first T20I ton against South Africa in 2010.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar had scored India’s maiden hundred in Day-Night ODI in 1991. Moreover, KL Rahul scored the Indian team’s first Day-Night T20I hundred in 2018.

On the other hand, India is currently 289-4 at Lunch on Day 2 and they lead by 183 runs. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli scored 12 fours in his sublime knock and thus, as usual, he scored a lot of his runs in singles and doubles. The right-hander batted at the top of his game and drove majestically in his century knock. The linchpin was brilliant in driving the ball and put on an exhibition of shots.

The talisman hardly has any chunk in his armor and he is batting at his best against Bangladesh. The visitor’s bowlers had no answers to Kohli’s brilliance and they were not able to trouble him at all.
