I Am Happy To Be Playing At Any Position – KL Rahul
India’s flamboyant batsman KL Rahul has revealed that he is happy to be playing at any position for the team. Rahul had batted at number three in the absence of full-time skipper Virat Kohli in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
With Shikhar Dhawan not doing well in the shortest format of the game, there are talks that KL Rahul should open with vice-captain Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, KL Rahul has done a fine job while opening the innings for his IPL team, Kings XI Punjab.
KL Rahul would like to be more consistent.
However, Rahul believes that one must be flexible with their batting position while playing for the national side. Rahul is currently part of the team in the T20Is whereas he was dropped from the Test side after his inconsistent performances.
KL Rahul said while talking to CricTracker, “I am happy to be playing at any position for the country, it is like a job and if your team expects you to do it, you have to do it. There is no compromise here. If it is a responsibility, I will do it for my team. Everybody is keen to play and fulfill whatever role they are given and we all try to do our best for our country.”
KL Rahul had scored a fine fifty in the final T20I against Bangladesh. The right-hander has a great technique but he hasn’t been to do justice with his performances. Thus, Rahul has also lost his spot in the Test side.
The right-hander was in good form in the Vijay Hazare trophy but it was too late for him to get his place back. Rahul will like to deliver the goods in the shortest form of the game. The stylish batsman will be in action when India will play West Indies in the three-match T20I series.
